At the heart of Dussé
Presentation
An architectural masterpiece inspired by the Gothic and Renaissance periods, Château de Cognac welcomes visitors so they can learn its history and some of the secrets behind the production of its cognacs.
The tour begins in the historic part of the château, where visitors will discover sumptuous rooms, such as the splendid State Room where King Francis I received his guests. This room is notable for its Renaissance architecture, which is very different from other parts of the castle dating back to the Middle Ages. The tour then leads to the château’s cellars which offer exceptional conditions for ageing Cognac. Here, the process of making BARON OTARD & D’USSÉ cognacs is explained in detail. At the end of the tour is a surprising initiation into the art of Cognac tasting, blindfolded in the dark. A real sensory experience, close your eyes and use your other senses to try and guess the different aromas present in our D’USSÉ cognacs.
