Sweets and desserts
Presentation
At the end of a chestnut-tree-lined avenue, in the middle of a small wood of century-old oaks, Jules Normandin, who founded the Cognac house in 1872, built his ageing cellars on the property of a former 17th-century hunting lodge, a stone’s throw from La Rochelle.
“Gourmandises” (sweets and desserts) is a rich sensory experience for the eyes, nose, taste buds and fingertips to enjoy the crunchy and melting textures of chocolate alongside the enveloping qualities of Cognac.
The Cognac and chocolate duo also appeals to women and offers a fresh approach and relaxed way to discover Cognac.
A varied selection of chocolates is proposed thanks to our close collaboration with a very talented chocolatier who offers seasonal products that perfectly match our Cognacs. The chocolates are certified organic and manufactured locally in the city of La Rochelle.
On the agenda
- Tour and original tasting experience offering Cognac-chocolate pairings with organic chocolates from La Cabosse Enchantée, a chocolatier based in La Rochelle;
- Each cocoa origin pairs distinctively with the Cognac;
- Example pairing (chocolates vary depending on the season):
- Cognac VSOP with “L’Île aux Trésors” chocolate flavoured with sea salt from Île de Ré;
- Cognac XO enjoyed with chocolate-covered candied orange peel.
