Le Baudet’our – A journey into the heart of Charente’s winegrowing history
Presentation
Enjoy a unique and relaxing escape through the Charente vineyards alongside Jazz and Fifi, our Poitou donkeys—an ancient breed once essential to traditional farm work. Guided by François, owner of Domaine Montansier, and his team, this experience offers an authentic journey through time, blending nature, heritage, and gastronomy.
As you walk through the estate’s historic plots in Graves-Saint-Amant, discover the evolution of the Charente vineyard and its emblematic grape varieties, including Chauché, Folle Blanche, and Ugni Blanc. You will also explore parcels dedicated to IGP Charentais wines and Pineau des Charentes, while passing by the Boisière fallow lands and truffle oak trees, for a full immersion in the richness of the local terroir. Along the way, learn about the estate’s family history and the importance of terroir in cognac production.
The experience ends with a friendly tasting and food pairing featuring local products and the estate’s cuvées, creating a warm and memorable moment to share. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended for the walk through the vineyards.
